Recapturing HardKnock.TV’s 7 Year Anniversary 3-On-3 Basketball Tournament
Following the fun that was had after partnering with TSS during the 2nd annual Hoop x Hang 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the 2012 SXSW Music Festival, HardKnock.TV took it one step further as they celebrated its 7 year anniversary with a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Hollywood, CA. during BET Awards weekend.
With the entire HKTV crew in attendance and/or playing in the 3-on-3 tournament, 8 teams worked up quite a sweat in an effort to gain bragging rights and courtesy of our GoPros every angle of their game was caught on camera.
Each player was freshly fitted in a new pair of Hyperdunks courtesy of Nike, as Hard Knock and friends were ballin’ so hard that you literally couldn’t find us unless you looked up on the rooftop court at the Ricardo Montalban Theater. On the decks was DJ Smiles, providing music that seamlessly became the soundtrack to the friendly, yet fiery competition – fitting as the L.A. sun beat down on the crimson court.
We got our hoop on while hanging out with PAC Div’s tri-fecta; Like, Mibbs & Beyoung. Bars N Buckets’ team came out with Thurzday & Skotch Davis and Diamond Supply Co. rolled through with Brock Korsan, Chase n Cash & Dow Jones.
Just Be Cool was chillin’ in the buildin’ while Top Dawg Entertainment’s Jay Rock was rockin’ with us along with teammate Brannon Scales. Team Nike repped hard with a home court advantage as did Team Converse, showing that both brands would be formidable opponents.
The reigning Hoop x Hang champs, Team Hard Knock with DJ Hyphen, our very own Nick Huff and XXL’s Carl Chery, took to the court to protect their title, knowing that they were the team everyone was looking to beat.
The tournament was a success and in the end, Team Nike left with the final “W” over TDE to freshen up for the night’s festivities.
A huge and special thank you to all who came out to play, Nike, Powerade, GoPro and 5 Hour Energy for hooking us up, and of course those who came out to show support as the day could not have been any more fun!
