Mez on Directing J Cole’s Middle Child, Motifs in Art, Dropping Singles vs Albums, Loading, Nipsey
Hard Knock Tv’s Nick Huff Barili sits down with Mez (formerly King Mez) for in-depth interview at Truth Studios. In Episode 2 Mez talks about J Coles “Middle Child” video being the first video he ever officially directed. Mez gives us details not only of the process but also what it was like on set, including how last minute he and the crew removed the tints on J Cole’s Aston Martin truck with razor blades, blow dryer and ammonia with out telling Cole because that’s what Mez needed for the shot. Although Mez didn’t know all the film terminology he was able to communicate his vision and taste to the crew. Mez goes on to talk about Motifs in art, listening to NPR’s “How I Built This”, dropping the “King” from his name, his thoughts on releasing singles vs albums, the meaning behind his new single “Loading” and Nipsey’s legacy. Episode 2 covers a lot more topics! Make sure you subscribe to be notified when new episodes drop! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=hardknocktv
