John Legend on building Mosque near “Ground Zero”

www.hardknock.tv Hard Knock Tv’s Nick Huff Barili caught up with John Legend and in this segment they talk about John’s feelings about building a Mosque near “Ground Zero”. John, who is currently living in NY said that he can’t understand the conservatives argument because you can’t even see “Ground Zero” from where the Mosque is scheduled to be built. He also stated that Muslims should not be punished for crimes that radicals have committed and he compared it to Christians not having to be accountable for what priest have done to kids or the Spanish Inquisition. John also talked about speaking out as an artists and fighting for what you believe in regardless of whether its going to effect how many fans you are going to gain or lose. On a personal note, it is refreshing for him to take a stance in something he believes in. Gone are the days when celebrities like Muhammad Ali use their star power to draw attention to issues they believe in. These days artists, athletes, etc are more concerned about losing endorsements from corporations than standing up for what they believe in.
