Logic Freestyles, Says No One Actually Freestyles Anymore, Talks “Heard Em Say”, Demo, “Amen”, Jay Z
Hard Knock Tv’s Nick Huff Barili sits down with Logic for his last interview in his LA home studio and for an exclusive in-depth to break down Logic’s new album No Pressure. This is episode 5, where Logic breaks down lyrics and stories for songs from his album No Pressure including: “Aquarius III”, “Soul Food ii”, “Perfect”, “Heard Em Say”, “Amen” and “Obediently Yours”. Logic also talks about NO ID giving him the mic that Jay Z used to record 4:44, which Logic jokingly says he is going to use to clone Jay so he can finally get a verse from him. Reminiscing on his demo, Logic says he sounded like Biggie Smalls. Logic goes on to say that you can’t judge an album by a first time listen because he hated Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid m.A.A.d city” when he first heard it but then grew to love it. Logic freestyles to prove a point that free-styling is supposed to be off the top of your head but since everyone comes with writtens he says the art form of freestyle is lost. Logic goes on to say no one actually freestyles because they are afraid it wont be great. There is much more on this episode including Logic talking about racism and the inspiration to use Orson Welles speech from 70 years ago.
