Hennessy Celebrates Launch of Limited Edition Bottle designed by Shepard Fairey
There was a distinct buzz in the air Thursday evening as a select group awaited the unveiling of a new Hennessy V.S. collaboration with renowned artist Shepard Fairey. Held at Create Nightclub in Hollywood, Hennessy treated attendees to a night of music, art, digital interaction, and of course, cocktails, all in celebration of a limited edition bottle designed by the “OBEY” originator.
DJ sets by D-Nice, Z-Trip, and Shep Fairey himself (aka DJ Diabetic) set the mood for the evening. Prior to his DJ set, Fairey greeted the crowd and showed a vignette of his collaboration with the cognac brand, explaining that his respect for Hennessy’s quality provided the motivation behind the design. Guests
gathered throughout the night to sample a number of specialty drinks paired with hors d’oeuvres, while others could be seen painting on an interactive screen that allowed users to create their own “graffiti” with a digital spray can.
High profile celebrities including Chris Brown and drummer Travis Barker enjoyed the atmosphere alongside everyone else while awaiting a special performance by Compton’s prodigal son, Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick took the stage and did a full set of hits including “Swimming Pools” and “Poetic Justice”, culminating the night’s festivities.
Thuy-Anh J. Nguyen, Hennessy West Coast Marketing Manager, offered the following while recapping the event:
“Shepard Fairey embodies Hennessy’s “Never Stop. Never Settle.” mantra to always strive for the best by continuously pushing the limits with his creative work. And we could not be more excited to celebrate this unique collaboration with nothing less than the biggest and best party LA has seen this the year.”
