HardKnockTV’s 7th Year Anniversary – Movement at The Montalban

Game On:

As lines formed, bartenders settled, and the dim blue lights of theNike Montalban turned up, HardKnock TV’s 7 years of success was finally ready to let loose with the rest of their hip-hop family in Hollywood, CA. Nick Huff and Devi Dev started things off by speaking on Hard Knock TV history, and went on through the night to quiz the crowd in exchange for Nike x Hard Knock TV gear.

Let’s Start the Show

Unlike a typical L.A. crowd, fans and VIP’s alike showed up early for the celebration. With so many events happening surrounding the BET Awards, there was no telling what the initial turnout would be, but the benefit of social media buzz throughout the day tournament brought folks out by the dozens to see their favorite artists take the stage. Needless to say, our true-blue followers showed early and left last.

Diamond Lane! – Problem and Bad Lucc

We made a separate guest list for their 40+ friends, but it didn’t really matter since they came ready to turn the place up. Many of them would be joining the performance on stage once Problem and Bad Lucc hopped on their respective mics. The performance was highlighted by Problem spitting his verse from the E-40 hit “Function”, with just about all of his 40+ backing him up.

Hella Catchy – Clyde Carson

One of the first performers of the night to kick it off with his joint “Slow Down” and by about a minute in, the crowd caught on to the easy habit of performing the chorus along with him. “I move too fast on the gas don’t chase me…eyyy, 6-cylinder, r-really bruh?!” is all we heard in our bass bumpin’ heads for days after.

Freestyle Flow In – King Los

King Los demanded the crowd up, and with reason too, as he free flowed to whatever the crowd requested – and in this case it was Obama Care! Oh yeah – things got, and are about to stay… heavy with this Bad Boy.

Keep It Real – Fashawn

The Grizzly City artist filled us with some underground rhythm, and preached life’s lyrical lessons through a few classics, like “Life As A Shorty.”

Heyyy, That’s My DJ! – Steve 1Der and DJ Smiles

Our attendees were taken care of with a couple of LA’s most vibrant DJ’s. Smiles had Vine Street vibrating during our basketball tournament. And, Steve 1Der held the artists’ performances down throughout, while creating a house party feel with his infamous video mixes.

Lovah’s Lane – BJ The Chicago Kid and Thurz

Couples snugged up and ladies hinted adoring support as the venue stayed intimate through the performance. All ears were on the Chicago kid and Thurz collaboration, “Hell’s Angel.”

All Day Wil’ders – Pac Div

These hustlers put in good work at the basketball tournament and came through once again to end the event, but definitely not end the night. They provided that fire, then sprayed water to cool them. Everyone in the theater hit motion once the beat of ‘Anti-Freeze’ blared and up until ‘Mayor’ closed the set. Energy was saucy. But then again.

Most Likeable Mann – Mann

The West LA born and raised young Mann has got resounding aroma of positive vibe. You know you’re supposed to be doing what you do if you’re as happy and prepared as Mann is on stage.
