Blitz the Ambassador – Something to Believe
10 years removed from his homeland of Ghana, Blitz the Ambassador dedicates his music to his birth place of Africa. Blitz has a better story than 99% of rappers in Hip Hop.
Gathering in a local barbershop to watch MTV/BET footage as a kid, Blitz fell in love with Hip Hop, but it wasn’t until his older brother played Public Enemy’s It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back when it actually changed him. “I had never heard young Black people express themselves in that way before,” recalls Blitz. His music tells his journey, from living in Africa to the pursuit of the American dream in Brooklyn.
With an album called Native Sun dropping May 3rd, keep your ears open. He’ll also be performing this summer in LA w/ a 6-8 piece band. His sound is very unique for rap. Take a listen to “Dear Africa”, which is the first release from his album. —Campano
